Bangkok Governor Chadchart Sittipunt announced Tuesday that he has directed city administrators to implement a comprehensive inspection program covering similar establishments throughout the metropolitan area. The governor emphasized that the city would also strengthen enforcement of existing legislation to elevate safety standards across the hospitality sector.

On Tuesday, former customers and grieving community members gathered at the site to honor those who lost their lives. A growing collection of floral tributes now leans against the guardrails surrounding the affected area. Handwritten notes in Thai and various other languages, including Korean, were placed alongside white flowers as expressions of sympathy for the victims.
Scattered debris from the venue, including melted musical equipment and charred seating, remained visible along the sidewalk. Thai officials had relocated these items on Monday as part of their investigation into the fire's origins.
University student Thanakon Phoklang, who happened to be nearby, stopped to pay his respects. He described the tragic loss as deeply regrettable, reflecting the sorrow felt by many in the community.

Amorn Pimanmas, president of the Thailand Structural Engineers Association, provided expert commentary on potential contributing factors. Speaking to reporters outside the venue on Monday, he noted several risk elements he observed despite not conducting a formal inspection of the premises.
He explained that the building's enclosed design, combined with low ceiling heights, likely contributed to rapid smoke accumulation. Additionally, decorative foam materials may have been used without sufficient flame-retardant treatment. Limited air circulation would have allowed toxic fumes to build up quickly, potentially explaining why many victims succumbed to smoke inhalation rather than burns.
Amorn also highlighted an important regulatory distinction: the bar held a license as a restaurant with live music capabilities rather than as a dedicated entertainment venue. This classification resulted from its location outside zones specifically designated for entertainment businesses. Consequently, the establishment was exempt from the more rigorous fire safety requirements that apply to entertainment venues.
"There must be some kind of revolution regarding fire safety procedures, and I think law enforcement is also very important," Amorn stated. "It's not that we don't have the law, but it's the problem of how the law could be strictly enforced from now on. I think the government should answer this question."
The incident has sparked renewed calls for comprehensive reform in how fire safety regulations are implemented and monitored across Thailand's hospitality industry.
