Dan Walker to appear at tribunal as ex co-host brings bullying claim

Employment Tribunal Proceeding

TV presenter Dan Walker is set to take part in an employment tribunal following a bullying claim filed by his former Channel 5 News co-host. Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije’s legal representative stated that both ITN, the network’s producer, and Paramount, its owner, are included as respondents in the case.

“This claim, which is denied in full, will be addressed through the tribunal process,” said an ITN spokesperson.

The Mail on Sunday, which first broke the story, added that Vanderpuije, a former BBC Breakfast host, also accused Walker of displaying sexist attitudes and misogynistic behavior. The tribunal will commence in London on 20 April and is expected to last for five weeks, according to Vanderpuije’s lawyer Jonathan Coad.

Walker, who has previously appeared on Strictly Come Dancing, joined Vanderpuije as a co-host on Channel 5 News in 2022. Vanderpuije left the network in 2024. ITN’s CEO, Rachel Corp, is also listed as a respondent to the case.

ITN denied the allegations in a statement, while Walker has been reported to have over 50 character witness statements supporting his defense. A prior internal review of claims against him did not substantiate any misconduct, as per sources.
