Tributes to ‘fun, bright’ boy, 13, killed in crash

A 13-year-old boy’s family has expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing him as a cheerful, vibrant, and athletic individual whose presence was deeply cherished by those around him. Noah Campbell lost his life in a tragic collision involving a car, bicycle, and scooter on Greenfield Road in Flitwick, Bedfordshire, at 11:50 PM BST on Friday. Two other teenagers were seriously injured in the incident and taken to the hospital.

Family Statement Highlights His Life and Passion

“His greatest joy was time spent with friends and family, who were central to his happiness. While football was his favorite sport, he also excelled in rugby, cricket, and athletics, showcasing a remarkable versatility in physical activities. Outside of competitions, he remained active and adventurous, enjoying gym sessions and time at the bike park,” the family said in a statement.

The family added: “Noah’s death has created a lasting emptiness in our lives that will never be filled.” Their tribute comes as authorities announced the charges against those involved in the accident.

Charges Filed Against Those Involved

Two individuals have been formally charged in connection with the crash. Jamie Fountain, 24, of Fir Tree Close, Flitwick, faces multiple offenses including causing death by careless driving and exceeding the legal alcohol and drug limits. He is also charged with two counts of causing serious injury through careless driving. Additionally, Fountain has been accused of failing to stop at the accident scene, neglecting to report the incident, and plotting to obstruct justice.

Ellie Ireland, 23, of Wingate Drive, Ampthill, has been charged with conspiracy to pervert the course of justice. Both are set to appear in Luton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, having been remanded in custody.

Preliminary reports indicate one of the injured teenagers remains hospitalized in critical condition, while the second was treated for severe injuries and released from the hospital, as confirmed by police.
