Two more murder arrests after boy, 14, shot dead
Authorities in southeast London have added two more suspects to the list of those arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 14-year-old boy. Eghosa Ogbebor, 14, died at the scene following an incident on Lord Warwick Street in Woolwich around 3:40 PM BST on Thursday. The Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrests of a 16-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man on murder charges, along with a 46-year-old man suspected of assisting the offender.
Earlier in the week, three individuals were detained on suspicion of murder, including two male teenagers aged 14 and 16, and an 18-year-old man, but all have since been granted bail. Det Ch Insp Lucie Card, who is overseeing the probe, stated:
“Our team of dedicated detectives is tirelessly pursuing leads to determine the cause of Eghosa’s tragic passing. Residents in Woolwich may have noticed increased police activity last night, as officers apprehended three additional suspects tied to the investigation. We acknowledge the concern Eghosa’s death has raised, particularly within the local community, which will continue to see heightened police presence in the area.”
She also urged anyone with relevant information or who witnessed unusual activity to contact the police.
