Blue Bloods Star Alex Duong’s Heartbreaking Final Comment Weeks Before Death at 42 Amid Cancer Battle

Alex Duong, a comedian and actor celebrated for his role on Blue Bloods, expressed optimism about overcoming his cancer just weeks before his untimely passing. His journey with the disease had been arduous, but he remained resilient, even as his condition worsened.

The actor succumbed to septic shock on Saturday, at the age of 42, after a prolonged struggle with a rare and aggressive form of cancer known as alveolar rhabdomyosarcoma. This malignancy had formed a tumor behind his eye, leading to the loss of vision in his left eye and a significant financial burden due to over $400,000 in medical debt.

“I just found out my boy Alex, he’s been battling eye cancers, quite a while… and it was going good and he recently had a seizure. And the thing with the seizure, they found out he has something in his spine, man,”

shared Chris Tran, a friend who manages the Little Saigon, Westminster Instagram account. Tran’s message urged followers to rally around Duong during his deteriorating health.

On January 28, Duong’s final Instagram post featured a video reposted by Tran, accompanied by his poignant remark: “[two hand clap emojis] I will walk out of here.” This brief comment encapsulated his determination, even as his body weakened.

A close family confidant, Hilarie Steele, confirmed his death to TMZ on Sunday, stating that Duong passed away at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica. His death followed a night of septic shock, marking the end of his valiant fight against the illness.

Following his passing, a GoFundMe campaign launched by Steele is now supporting his wife Cristina and their five-year-old daughter Everest. The initiative aims to provide financial relief for the family in the wake of his loss.
