Drunk mom allegedly left crying daughter at bar to party at Universal resort nightclub

Amanda Thorpe, 33, was detained on Saturday following police locating her 12-year-old daughter in tears and solitude at CW Shoreline Bar, adjacent to Universal’s CityWalk in Orlando.

According to the affidavit obtained by FOX35, the young girl was ‘visibly upset, crying, and sitting alone on a bar stool by the bar.’ Police reported that Thorpe was drinking at the bar when a customer’s remark triggered her to leave abruptly.

‘An unidentified patron of the bar stated something that upset Amanda,’ the affidavit stated.

Thorpe had intended to head to the Red Coconut Club, a nearby resort nightclub, but her preteen daughter requested to return to the hotel room due to fatigue.

The mother allegedly flipped off her daughter, shouting ‘f*** you,’ before departing the premises. The affidavit noted: ‘Amanda got livid with [REDACTED], displayed the middle finger, said, ‘(Expletive) you,” and left the CW Shoreline Bar without [REDACTED].’

Later, officers discovered Thorpe at the Red Coconut Club, dancing alone with an alcoholic drink in hand. She was found by police, who noted her disheveled appearance and the scent of fruity beverages on her breath.

The 33-year-old mother initially told deputies she believed the child was with her, but the report revealed the daughter was later picked up by her grandfather.

Thorpe was granted a $2,500 cash bond and entered a not guilty plea to a third-degree child neglect charge. Her attorney has been contacted for further comments.
