Trump shares renderings of a towering presidential library
On Monday, President Donald Trump unveiled renderings of his envisioned presidential library, providing a glimpse into how the planned Florida-based facility might honor his legacy. The nearly two-minute video, posted on Truth Social, depicts a skyscraper prominently situated in Miami’s skyline, with the Trump name emblazoned near the summit. The design features visitors entering through a golden arch marked with the presidential insignia, followed by an interior that includes exhibits mimicking White House scenes, symbolic elements tied to Trump’s political journey, and a display of aircraft such as Air Force One.
AI-generated visuals spark debate
The renderings, which seem to be created using AI, show a mix of architectural and historical elements. While the final design remains uncertain, the video highlights Trump’s gilded Oval Office and a reconstructed Rose Garden. It also includes scenes resembling the “Presidential Walk of Fame” on the West Colonnade and a grand ballroom planned for the site of the former East Wing. Key moments from Trump’s career are subtly referenced, such as a golden escalator echoing his 2024 campaign announcement and a towering statue replicating his iconic pose after the July 2024 shooting in Pennsylvania.
“I don’t believe in building libraries or museums,” Trump remarked during a signing ceremony. “This concept could be office, but it’s most likely gonna be a hotel with a beautiful building underneath, a 747 Air Force One in the lobby, which is going to be a trick.”
Eric Trump, the president’s son and head of the library’s foundation, praised the designs on X. “This landmark on the water in Miami, Florida will stand as a lasting testament to an amazing man, an amazing developer, and the greatest President our Nation has ever known,” he stated. However, the site selection faced challenges when a judge temporarily halted the land sale due to a lawsuit alleging violations of Florida’s open government law. The chosen location, 2.63 acres adjacent to the Miami Freedom Tower—a former Cuban refugee processing center—was transferred to the foundation via a Cabinet vote in 2025.
Florida residency and future plans
Trump, a native New Yorker, legally established residency in Florida in 2019, relocating his permanent address to the Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach. The foundation noted that the site was selected after evaluating multiple locations across the state. “The Trump Presidential Library will be one of the most magnificent buildings in the world and a living testament to the indelible impact President Trump has made on America and its people,” said White House spokesperson Davis Ingle in a statement.
Additionally, Trump mentioned that a luxury Qatari jet converted into Air Force One would eventually be relocated to the library post-presidency, though the model in the video retains the current color scheme rather than the proposed red, white, and gold palette.
