Essex Police confirmed that a 19-year-old woman, identified as Jamie-Lea Biscoe, lost her life after a dog attack at her home in Long Hide, Leaden Roding, near Dunmow. The incident occurred at 22:45 BST on Friday, when officers arrived to find the victim suffering severe injuries. Emergency personnel worked tirelessly to stabilize her, but she was declared dead at the scene, according to the police force.

Man Arrested in Connection with Fatal Attack

A 37-year-old man from Dunmow has been detained on suspicion of failing to control his dog, which caused fatal injuries. The canine was confiscated by authorities, and specialists ensured the area was secured. A police cordon was still in place at the property on Sunday.

“This incident will undoubtedly leave the local community in shock. My thoughts and those of Essex Police are with the family and friends of the woman who passed away yesterday,” said Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Hooper on Saturday.

The police have urged anyone with relevant footage—such as CCTV or dashcam recordings—to contact them, referencing incident number 1419 from April 10. Meanwhile, St Michael and All Angels Church in the village announced plans to hold a prayer service and light candles at 4:00 PM on Sunday afternoon.
